Apr. 3rd, 2003 06:27 pmCrap crap crappity crap. I feel ill. Again. Do I have mono? Am I just really really old?
Anywho, Jo called me up and told me that she got into Delta. She basically woke me up around 10AM, even though my alarm had gone off ten minutes previously. I was doing the lounging thing, being (typically) lazy as a mutha. I surprised myself by being genuinely happy for her. I know she'd been anxiously waiting to hear from them for the last two weeks or so. She told me she'd heard from them on Monday and during the day (while standing against the wall in the VW, serving the sheep) I wondered whether a real friend would have called periodically to see how she was doing with the whole situation. I think a real friend would have, which sort of goes a way towards explaining why I didn't. Of course she starts up on trying to get me to join. If it had been anyone else on the other line I would have given him/her a hearty laugh and promptly hung up the phone, but I just held in the laughter and said "a-huh...well, you know I'm not really into those sort of things". Or maybe I said "hells no, biatch!". I forget.
I picked up a congratulations card to send her way after work. Also picked up a card for Darwent. I'm sure the folks are giving him hell so maybe my card will be a little "pick-up" for him. Or maybe he'll open it looking for money and be disappointed. Either way, I already bought it so it's going to be sent out.
