Alan Rickman is the best thing to ever happen to the world. That scene tends to make you forget that you're technically not actually supposed to like Snape. But, who cares? :)

Alan Rickman = teh sex. I mean, I can do without the British teeth perhaps, but it adds such character. I need a tape of him reading something, anything. The Phone Book, perhaps. I don't care. Happy Fun Time fodder for weeks, I tell you.

And yes, that scene cemented my Snape love. I've rewatched that 1 minute and 20 seconds too many times to count. :)

*grin* Funny thing is, because of Rickman I now imagine my book Snape to look something across between him and Trent Reznor. Maybe with Rickman's voice and Trent's overall attractiveness. I do find Rickman on his own distractingly sexy, but they had to have based the movie Snape's design on Mssr Reznor.

I've been thinking that Adrian Brody would have been a good choice for Snape in the flashbacks to youth, so I visualize him (it's the nose) as well when picturing Severus.

True. That honker is *out there*. If he'd been major in the scene when they were making the movie maybe they could have aged him a bit and made him a professor. Then again, he's no Rickman. Riiiiiiiiickman.
