After too much cheap red wine the question arose between us "Why did Socrates drink the hemlock?" and I, playing the ultimate pragmatist, answered blithely "Because he was thirsty".

The latest issue of Sports Illustrated quotes Bo Jackson as saying he hunts because "it's illegal to kill stupid people". I thought it was illegal to kill *all* people. Wow. I guess I can stop holding back those homicidal tendencies now.

I highly doubt Ms. Rowling intended to imply that Sirius and Lupin were lovers, no matter how much slash fiction arises to the contrary. And can Harry whine any more? Jebus. Still a pretty good book though.
