The view of downtown Manhattan on 9/11/06, posted by [livejournal.com profile] alienswede at [livejournal.com profile] newyorkers.

The original post, through which one can access his Flickr page.

And then [livejournal.com profile] chaossix6's panorama view. A link to the post. He posts great photographs, the kind of greatness that fools a body into thinking it's easy and you with the urge to pick up a camera (or brush, or pen, etc) and try your hand as well.

Late, I know, but I hope you all voted in your local primaries. Your vote is your voice. Funny enough, I didn't get a chance to vote, even though I worked from 5:30AM to 9:30PM at a polling facility. The place I had to cast my ballot wasn't close enough for me to reach without transportation, and my breaks didn't allow me enough time to make it over there. The candidates I would have voted for won, so that's some small consolation. The book I was reading (and managed to finish while there, btw), The Store, had a nice running commentary on the importance of being politically active in the local arena. I'm pretty sure something seeped into my brain during the course of the (longest) workday (ever).

Anyone interested in seeing Jon Stewart and Co. with me? I have an extra ticket to a taping of The Daily Show on Monday, September 25th. It's more like a possible ticket, as seats aren't guaranteed - you have to line up and wait and hope your reservations are called. As long as you get there two hours before they let people in things are peachy keen. Taping begins at 4:45, so we'd have to meet up sometime before 3:30PM, I think. I'll most likely get to the line by 1:30-2, because I'm quite desperate to see Mssr. Stewart anal like that. E-mail or reply and let me know.

I'd love to see Jon Stewart--but seeing as the likelihood of me getting to NYC for that date is nigh on impossible, I'll just have to live vicariously through you for that. Puhleeze post about it!

*grin* I was going to ask you all exclusive and some junk, but then I figured you had to work and be grown-up and stuff so you wouldn't be able to come.

If I was going to be anywhere near NYC I'd totally take you up on it. That's one of the things I want to do when I finally get to visit New York.

I haven't commented in ages! *blush*

I was thinking about the election today. I wish I could have voted, but I don't think New Jersey votes would count. *grin*

That picture is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Enjoy The Daily Show! I'm reminded of last year when you had gotten tickets around this time, and I was supposed to go, and something came up and we couldn't. I will meet up with you one day, I vow it!

If you really can and want to go, let me know. We'll arrange a meet up of some sort.

*grin* I think it was my clinicals that got in the way last time. Would you believe I responded for another set of tickets back in JANUARY, and it's taken me this long to get into a taping? Craziness.

Don't feel bad. You're one of those people whose presence on LJ makes me feel tons better. You don't have to feel moved to comment if you don't want to. :) I've been in a bit of a funk lately and have been fairly lax with the comments as well. I'm sort of hoping folks understand but meh. I'll prod myself into being more LJ active.

NJ had primaries too! Aww. Make sure you're registered to vote in the general elections in October.

We have to get together someday. Like, seriously. Like, no joke.

I will post about it. I haven't sat in on a show taping since I caught Conan O'Brien back in HS. My friend and I went. We cut school to see it (whoo! to Senioritis). She had dibs on Conan, I had dibs on Andy Richter. So much fun.

Make sure you check out tickets WAY in advance. It's taken me nine months since I e-mailed them for tickets to get into a taping. You might end up making your vacation *around* your taping, as it's nigh impossible to specify a day you want to attend.

Wow, craziness indeed.

Aw, that makes me feel good. I do always read your entries, even though I may not comment. You just rock so much, and I really mean that. I've been in a funk online lately, and this is really the first time I've been online at home instead of at work. I just have no energy anymore.

Aheh...I only knew about the NY primaries, because I saw the commercials 18308057085 million times a day. I don't even keep up with politics too much. *blush*

Dude. People's Court. End of October. That is, if you're still interested. I'll be calling for tickets the beginning of next month, so let me know whenever. I'll remind you via email around October 1. :)

Yeah, dude! Totally on. E-mail is the way to go. Are we allowed to snark on the cases? *grin*

And thanks for the compliment! You rock too, L-dawg, you know it. I understand the funk because that's where I'm living too at the moment. I need to find the energy to get off my ass and hunt down a job. There's this nursing job far in the second week of October I'm keen on but I really shouldn't be waiting until then to find a job and...why am I sticking all this stuff in your comment? *sigh*

Anyway, take some time for yourself. Maybe take some St. John's Wort to combat the funk? Try to walk around a little extra for exercise if you can. Sometimes that helps. *hugs*

Whoo!! And I'm not sure if we're allowed to snark, but we should do so anyway. :D

Aw, you're very welcome. And thank you for the compliment! :) I don't blame you for not wanting to search for a job right away. Being a grown-up sucks, especially when you have responsibilities. :( I don't mind that you stick all that in my comment. :)

I'm beginning to walk home from work, and that helps clear my head after the long day, and it also helps with my exercising. I've started doing DDR once a week also, and that provides fun as well as much-needed exercise. Thanks so much for the suggestions -- I'll definitely look for St. John's Wort when I'm out tomorrow. *hugs*
