I had half a mind to make a long-winded post on this, but brevity is our friend: Jason Fortuny is a douche. Trust and honesty are hard to come by offline, and are often mere illusions online. Use common sense and don't share your information and maybe it won't come back and bite you on the ass.

And, yes, it was Dan Savage's article and weigh-in on the subject that first enlightened me.

There's funny drama going down because of it and it's like watching a car wreck. Marriages being broken up and families embarrassed and the like. It's one of those things where you feel bad for people that were looking for a willing sexual partner but then you want to smack them for sharing such intimate details about themselves immediately.

After reading all sorts of commentary on this situation, I find that even Mr. Fortuny doesn't piss me off as much as the feminists who decry the BDSM-ers as "fucked up." "Oh, how horrible, those men get off on hurting women!" "Oh dear, that woman gets off on being beat up!" Bitch, please.

As for Fortuny's prank: you're right, he's an ass. In most of those men't cases, their only "crime" was trying to use the Internet to meet other people who shared their sexual interests. Perhaps they were too forward with their personal info, but they don't deserve the public humiliation.
