I worked Monday night into Tuesday and instead of going home to sleep I went to get my hair done at the parlor and then went to the mall for shoes and make-up. I make a note of the make-up because I usually don't wear any of the stuff, and haven't spent a significant amount of money on it since right before my trip to Italy in HS. I walked into MAC, made a fluttering notion around my face with my hands and said "fix me" when confronted by one of the workers there. I was a bit concerned when I looked at the workers, as they seemed to be rejected extras from "Velvet Goldmine", but the young lady who did my make-up did a great job. I told her before she started that she could go all-out and I'd most likely end up purchasing everything she threw my way. I did, and then I dragged my sleepy ass home to prepare for middle bro's graduation. Summed up: blah blah, horrible band played, boring speeches (I'm still baffled by the whole "having an average higher than 100" thing), sit through all the names being called, leave. Soon as we got home I went to bed and slept my way to 2PM. Funny to think that I've only been up for two hours. It's still hot like FIRE outside and I'm not going anywhere, so pick something, peeps.

[Poll #1011217]

P.S. - The new Harry Potter movie looks mad hot, yo. We're so going to see that at IMAX on opening day.

P.P.S. - The Transformers movie looks mad hot too, yo. I'm ridiculously stoked that they got Peter Cullen to do voice over work in it.

they must have loved you at MAC. They have great makeup but the salespeople/makeup artists can be a little...over the top.

I was so groggy and out of it that I wasn't in the mood to protest anything brought my way if I thought it did a good job. I bought everything but a "vitamin spray" she started out with. Yeah, like some water with witch hazel and "88 vitamins and minerals" is going to rock my world.

I'm in serious need of some makeup. I never know what to get and I'm too scared to go to a dept store and get help from them because they'll salesladies will see me as an easy mark.

I can't wait for The Transformers movie. I hope it comes to IMAX. Does that make me a huge dork?

I think it's easier to go directly to a store than it is to go to a department in a mall. I actually had to head to the MAC department in Bloomingdales when the foundation I needed wasn't in stock at the MAC store, and the people in the department were pretty blatant with the whole commission income thing. However, I lucked out in that the people I interacted with weren't too hardcore with pushing stuff on me that I didn't like. Then again, I did make it blatantly obvious that I had no clue with makeup and I'd buy almost anything.

"I hope it comes to IMAX" was the second thing I said, after "Holy SHIT". Mind, I'd been initially turned off by the whole thing. All the more recent previews/teasers/trailers have won me over. I don't it is, because they usually announce it way in advance. If it makes you a dork then I'm right there with you.

Why'd you decide to start wearing makeup? Or is it for a special occasion?

I bought this nifty black dress and I had a sudden daydream where I was decked out in bright red shoes and wearing make-up. So I said "what the hell". It was sort of for a special event anyway (my brother's graduation), but I think I just wanted to spent the money on vanity instead of DVDs for once.

it must be like when you go in to get your hair done and some of the stylists' hair look like shit but all their clients come out looking amazing.

of course i'm going to say SPN. although i bought the 1st season of Entourage on DVD and now i'm desperate to see more.

i never thought i would be excited for a live-action Transformers, but the trailers look awesome!

The trailers are indeed pretty neat. I don't get the sense that TPTB are giving away the movie via the trailer, which is something I've noticed happening more and more lately. Trailers should be *teasers* more than anything else. Then again, it may mean there isn't exactly anything to give away, so...

askdjlghaoguaoerghaouaoghroagahrohaoh!

The above was my reaction to seeing the OotP commercial for about the tenth time last night. Yes, oh yes, I cannot wait for the 13th (when I be going to see it; non-Imax, though *sad face*).

I think I melted some pounds off just by walking from my house to my car, it's so freaking hot. It's been insane how much of NYC has had blackouts already. Crazy crazy crazy.

And I hope you're feeling better. *hugs*

I'm hoping the IMAX tickets don't go on sale some time while I'm at work and sell out the way the Superman tix did.

And, YO, it's straight-up blazin' outside. Although today's been pretty tolerable. Thanks for the good vibes. AND for the card! I got it the other day. Again, you're awesome. :)

Transformers would be exciting, but it looks like a commercial for Chevy. And a friend of mine said it was bad. But I expect it's still full of fun campiness.

Have you seen 'Knocked Up' yet? I thought I was going to convulse I laughed so hard.

Other than Harry Potter, I want to see "Super Bad" and the Simpsons movie this summer.

I've been craving makeup recently. I have dreams of throwing on some makeup and looking like Ava Gardner.

I want to see Knocked Up, but I figure since there's no explosions it's the sort of movie I can wait until it's on video to see. I liked 40 Year Old Virgin, so I figure Knocked Up and SuperBad should be full of win.

I'm not too sure about The Simpsons movie. I don't know if they can make 80-odd minutes of Simpsons interesting. Sometimes they fumble with the 22 minutes.

Ava Gardner? You should walk into a store and ask 'em to make you up like that.
