My friend and I are eyeing a trip to England during the second or third week of September. Just to make things easier on us we're probably going to stay in the London area. Anything going on 'round those parts during the time we should look out for? Suggestions for places to lay our heads? Words of wisdom/warning?

Don't know how you feel about hostels, but the place we stayed at, St. Christopers Orient Espresso was nice. hostelworld.com is a great place to search hostels. I personally loved staying in them...if you don't mind sleeping in a room with a couple of strangers! I do know that Orient Espresso does have a floor for women only.

Buy a day pass for the Underground. If you go ticket by ticket you'll go bankrupt!!!

Tower of London is an awesome way to spend the day. The Crown Jewels are there. We also went to Hampton Court, which is a half hour train ride out of London, but worth it!

Oooh, and can you bring me back a hot Englishman? He doesn't even have to be hot...just having the accent will make me want to marry him. But him being hot is a plus. ;)
