An explanation for my recent bouts of fatigue, the mild abdominal discomfort, the depressed mood, and (most telling,) the constant playing of the Tori Amos albums on my iPod and my recent purchase of Sarah McLachlan's "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy": Aunt Flo's all up in my piece. Gotta love the hormones.

I need to invest in both of those things. I've never used a hot water bottle. Do they still sell them?

Dude, you and society as a whole. I don't know if the world is even remotely prepared for my offspring.

Alieve, Tylenol, and Advil. Damn, the trifecta! I feel quite special now. :)

well, to be that guy: TOM = Time Of the Month.

If it's not, I'll just shut up and pretend I said nothing... :)

My docs keep trying to get me off Depo-Provera, because of the risk of bone density loss. But as one of the 50% who lose their periods while on the medication, I can't say I'm eager to go off it. Hooray for hormonal birth control!

LOL. well, that's not exactly what i meant. just that i didn't recall any entries from you about planning/wanting to be pregnant right now, so i figured it was good that you weren't? XD

"the world is not prepared"? do you think you'll give birth to little x-men? XDDDD

If osteoporosis runs in your family, though, maybe it's worth it to be off the DP. Periods now versus fractured hips later on, mebbe?

The term Uncle Tom and I have a bad history. But yes, it is my time of the month.

Grandma does have osteoporosis, but she also hates dairy and is an alcoholic, so I have no idea how much of it is innate. And really, it's more like debilitating cramps now versus fractured hips later. I agree that the Depo is not ideal, and I'm looking into other options, but we're talking serious cramps here.

(Also, please don't think that I was trying to solicit your unpaid medical advice)

Okay. Sorry; it just sort of slips out occasionally.

I getcha. My cramps are manageable, and I *still* feel like curling into a ball two days out of the month. I always feel for folks that have it bad.

No need to apologize. I really just didn't want you to think I was hitting you up for professional advice. I hate people who do that.

*grin* Shyeah, I wish. I just get the feeling my spawn will be not quite *right*. Not that I've made any pacts with demons lately, just saying.

just think, though. if you DID give birth to little x-men, they could wear really awesome baby versions of those leather x-men suits. with zippers so you could easily change their diapers.

you know, my mom looked a little like mia farrow in rosemary's baby when she was younger. though not blonde. or pregnant with the child of satan. i think.

HILARIOUS. :) Thank you for that. For the entire comment, actually.

Another reason why I'm currently at "eh, motherhood? maybe not for me": I'm all stoked about the whole "dressing my child like an X-Man" thing. I laugh at the moms that dress their kids up like every day is Halloween, but if I find a nerdy costume I don't think I'd be able to help myself.
