I don't think a broken leg and broken wrist are considered serious injury. Junior year of college right before Thanksgiving break I decided to head over to the computer lab to waste some time. I crossed the street near a construction zone and got blindsided by a fellow student driving his motorcycle. There was a moment - well, it felt like *forever* but couldn't have been more than 15 seconds - right after the actual impact and fall onto the street where I was unable to breathe and I thought to myself "dear God, don't let me asphyxiate out in the open air". It was most likely the shock of hitting the gravel that jolted my diaphragm and made the autonomic process decide to take a mini-vaca, but it was terrifying as fuck. Came out with a broken tib-fib that required two surgeries and some awesome titanium to fix and a broken wrist that just needed some babying from a cast. I was quite lucky, all things considered.

Spent last night through this morning walking [livejournal.com profile] atraxia through Due South 101: we watched the pilot*, "Victoria's Secret", "Burning Down the House", and most of "Mounty on the Bounty" before the disk decided to ruin our fun and stop playing. I figure we'll start Intermediate Due South next time around with "Some Like It Red" and "Eclipse". K. disappointed me by favoring Ray Vecchio over Ray Kowalski, and while I was tempted to stage a re-enactment of the Ray Wars in her bedroom (complete with bitchfests and added withholding of brownies) I figured it wasn't worth the effort (because I am AN ADULT). I also told K. of my newfound NCIS fanfic love, and she took it upon herself to check out fanvids on the Youtube. I love corrupting the minds of those around me (hee!).

Four day weekend! So much love! Not touching the damn tablet until Tuesday morning.

*Are pilots, as a rule, universally awful? The only pilot I remember watching and being bowled over was BSG's mini-series, and I don't think that technically counts. Hmm

Burning Down the House is seriously my favorite episode of them all.

Vecchio? Seriously? I have to find her that picspam of CKR's hands. ::fans self::

I really like the whole "new Ray" aspect of Burning Down the House. I could do without the B-plot with the performance arsonist, but still amusing. Strangely enough, I enjoy the hell out of Eclipse. There's something about Callum's delivery of his Ray monologue and the flashback that consistently wins me over.

And I KNOW! I think we hadn't watched enough of Ray K. for her to make a fair assessment. We kept laughing at Callum's heavy Canadian accent, so I think that was a minus for him. But the hands! and the mouth! and the smile! Oy.

The performance arsonist is what lets us see RayK's first genuine wigout, so I'll take it. He's cute when he's wigging out!

I suppose RayV needs his fans too. Even if he's a style pig. Ohmigod I'm totally going to singlehandedly restart a new Raywar and the fandom apparently just had one...

I can see the OT3, Marciano does have lovely eyes. Not that I'm shallow or anything, jus' sayin'.

And he is quite adorkable when wigging. It's one of his calling cards.

I'm part German, it's the post-Vegas angst that draws me in. But I can't argue about the eyes. The eyes are very nice. I'm not blind, just biased. Ahem.

(Did you see the new Gloria fic that went up in flashfiction? Giggled like a loon, I did.)

I just checked it out. I didn't giggle, I sorta went "aww!". A touch of the angst there. Liked it, though; will have to feed the author. My mornings can always do with some GloriaVerse.
