Watched Merlin again yesterday evening. It's not bad, just not terribly deep or groundbreaking. Which means it meets the standards for NBC Primetime fare. It remains highly amusing. Anthony Head (adore that man) has perfected the sloooow deliberate head turn. Colin Morgan (Merlin) does not photograph well at all, but he has more than a little charm when running around on screen. The plots are very much "Monster of the Week". I have a hard time believing a complex challenging fantasy series will ever make it on American television. I do have some hope for the adaptation of George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire, but I think HBO will end up emphasizing the political machinations (with all the back, side, front, and child stabbing that goes along with it...oh, the stabbing will be glorious) and leave the magic/mystical stuff on the backburner.

And as I was tagged by the sparkling awesomeness vessel that is Katey and I haven't inflicted the interwebz with a meme in a while I feel it best to lie my ass off:
“Sometimes you can learn more about a person by what they don’t tell you. Sometimes you can learn a lot from the things they just make up. If you are tagged with this Meme, lie to me. Then tag 7 other folks (one for each deadly sin) and hope they can lie.”

Pride: What is your biggest contribution to the world?
You know those hot cup sleeves you get at Starbucks? The ones that are from, like, 110% recycled material and cut down on landfill waste while allowing the corporate giant to sell that many more overpriced cups of triple light foam skim double mocha lattes? You know the person who created those sleeves?
Yup. Worship me already.

Envy: What do your coworkers wish they had which is yours?
What DON'T I have that isn't coveted by my coworkers? Next question.

Gluttony: What did you eat last night?
True story: went to WD50. Had a rocking starter and then found placed in front of me a plate of romaine lettuce, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, and a single (large) octopus tentacle glazed in red wine vinegar and lightly charred. Apparently Wylie's decided to sell out to Disney because my dish? Titled "Ursula's Last Gasp".

Lust: What really lights your fire?
Not "what", "who". ANDY. ROONEY. Once the last five minutes of "60 Minutes" rolls around it's time for [livejournal.com profile] fredericks to dim the lights and pull out a chilled glass of prune juice. Oh yes, you cranky old white man, you complain your shriveled little heart out.

Anger: What is the last thing that really pissed you off?
All the bad reviews given to Transformers 2: RotF. Yes, I know I was initially a doubter but I got dragged to a midday showing yesterday and was figuratively blown. away. by all the incredible acting, particularly on the part of Megan Fox. Academy, give this woman her due.

Greed: Name something you keep from others.
I figure my hoarding of discarded Nantucket Nectars bottle tops is for the good of future generations.

Sloth: What’s the laziest thing you’ve ever done?
Again, not "what", "who". Seriously Seth, I hope you've picked up some lessons since college.

And I'm not tagging seven people, because I know my FL and most of y'all avoid memes like the plague. I would like to see what [livejournal.com profile] devoosha, [livejournal.com profile] pr_spin_girl, [livejournal.com profile] atraxia, and [livejournal.com profile] captainschlumpy have to share. Anyone else want to join in feel free.

Haha! Oh your lies are everything I hoped for and more. Nantucket nectar tops and Starbucks sleeves ahoy. I do worship. I do!

Again, not "what", "who". Seriously Seth, I hope you've picked up some lessons since college.
I laughed so hard. My god.

I think I know one of these too... then again don't we all?

--no wait, you're lying. Errr...

Totally lying. Indeed.
Any truth that slipped in was completely accidental.
