Things continue on track (on track for what? dunno, but me likey). I've continued to go to WW every week, because even though the leader on my chosen day is a bit tiresome (she mentions she's lost and kept off 72 pounds AT LEAST four times during the half-hour sessions, she shills WW food products like she's getting paid commission...and she prolly is, and she asks very redundant questions) it's comforting to be in a room of people who are unabashedly dealing with similar issues with weight and food as me and are marginally supportive of my efforts. So far I've lost 42 pounds, at a rate a little higher than recommended but, hey, what can I say: I eat within Points guidelines, I work out usually four days a week (adding an extra day only if I've eaten a little more than usual and feel guilty about it, but that, imo, is as it should be). I figure I'll get to a plateau as I get closer to my goal weight and things will balance out. I feel loads better than I did around my last bday and, hey, at least my hair isn't falling out.

I pulled out my latest completed reading find, Frank Bruni's Born Round, at the meeting in order to read an excerpt for the folks in attendance. I zoomed through that book in three days of back and forth train rides, finding myself amused and touched by Mr. Bruni's autobiographical story. Reading about someone else's struggles with personal and public acceptance with his appearance hit quite close to home. Highly recommended for anyone who's had to buy the larger pair of jeans and then vowed to lose ten pounds (just about everyone, no?).

Next book on the agenda is most likely Christopher Moore's You Suck. It wasn't the first book on my "to read" pile, but I'm going on a Mercedes Lackey fast after trudging my way through Brightly Burning. I should have learned my lesson after enduring her Herald Mage trilogy but I figured this new one might be good for a laugh. Not so much.

Totally had a big point to make before I clicked on "post an entry". Anyway, g'night LJ.
