Mental health w/e, please

Work = HORRID. Just horrible. By 9am I wanted to break down at my desk. We had unintentional skeleton crews working in the office and out in the field ("out in the field" makes it seem like I work in a national park, doesn't it?) and it was hell to get everything organized (my manager was off as well, lucky bunt). I never think I manage well (which is why I'm not a manager), and I'm dreading heading in Monday to see just how I fucked things up. Nowadays my usual method of stress relief consists of working out, but I was exhausted as all hell on the train back home so I actually played hooky today. That might explain why I'm still feeling guilty and out-of-sorts. I do enjoy my job, but I detest feeling like a juggler with a palsy. *headdesk*

I do hope everyone's gotten their ya-yas out during this White Guilty Amnesty Day. Remember: it always falls the Friday after Thanksgiving, a holiday where we blithely ignore Native American suffering while eating ourselves into a stupor (tell me why I'm STILL thinking about that damn pecan pie...). Feel free to not feel obligated to say that you "have a black friend" or brandish your "Obama/Biden '08" sticker for one day out of the year if you so choose. There are two hours left if you're in EST; go crazy!

We need to add "oh I love Jay-Z" to that list. I overheard some woman at the store saying this and nearly snorted coffee out my nose. seriously. Wait...I DO love Jay-Z! crap, now what!?

And thanks for the sympathy. Don't want to think about Monday at all. Which may be why it's quite hard for me to get out of bed at this moment. :(
