fredericks: (Being Veep is hard work *snore*)

A squirrel photo from the archive. Notice the buds on the tree branches, a sign that my posting of this photo is a bit of a cheat and that I didn't get up the nerve to pull my camera out of its pouch. But I felt it an apt picture, as it captures what I feel like doing to life at the moment: mooning with my furry yet utterly adorable ass.

Although ass fur isn't necessarily quite as becoming on bipeds, is it? Whatever.

Still alive. Illness releasing me from its grip slowly. I blew off Pilates this evening because I wanted to come home and sleep, but it's 10:35 as I type this and I have yet to take a nap. Today I walked around the Union Square Market during lunch and scoped out books at the massive Barnes and Noble on 16th Street. I need to find another gym. Tomorrow I intend to check out the Crunch closest to my job to see if I can find a new workout home. I only have 90 days until my trip, after all.

BTW - How does AOL.com justify labeling the death of Corey Haim a "tragedy"? Unfortunate, yes. But tragic? I suppose in the grand scheme of things loss of a relatively young life is tragic, but cosmically? I dunno.

Seriously, is anybody's death really significant on the cosmic level? ;)

squirrel butt!

I think it counts as tragic, because he was overcome by his addictions. Stupid, yes, but also tragic - did he not get the help he needed from the people around him? Did he just decide to say f it and go for the gold, so to speak? I dunno.

That's what I'm saying. I just, like, "tragic"? Really? Bit of a stretch, folks.

Personally when I think "tragic" I think of a massive calamitous event. I think his death is quite sad. I just don't like the way the news media bandies around bombastic language to get hits/reads/ad revenue.

And, dude, we totally need more squirrel butt in our lives.
