I will finish what I start, dammit!

I'm forcing my way through Book 2 of Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros series, Moonshine. It's just to the left of painful at this point: Cal whines all the time, big brother Nik is virtuous to a fault and basically a super fighter +10, and the momentum that could be found in book one has vanished. And there's pseudo-tentacle porn. Yeah, not so much with the enjoyment on my part. But I was the idiot that rushed out and purchased every paperback in the series I could find, so now I'm stuck with three future books that I'm most likely going to detest as well. If anyone wants to read these things just let me know and I'll pay it forward.
Another book that I'm trying to finish? Kate Griffin's A Madness of Angels. I'm 132 pages in and I'm still a bit clueless as to what's going down. The book is 628 pages in total, so I guess I can give Ms. Griffin 70 pages more before I officially throw this bad boy on my "why did I buy this?" shelf.
I also have to re-read Butcher's Proven Guilty for research purposes. Of course, it would be my least favorite book in the series. Joy.

Date: 2010-06-23 02:48 am (UTC)Here's the suck - I'm scheduled to work this weekend. I'm hoping to get out of it, though (I do so hate working weekends). If I manage to finagle my way off the schedule I'll let you know, maybe we can meet up Saturday sometime.
And I can't wait for you to summarize the Flewelling's newest masterpiece. :)
