Ugh

I've diagnosed myself with a sinus infection. Either that or mono. The whole body ache/headache/congestion bit started on Wednesday with the mildest of symptoms and really hit its stride Friday night. I spent Sunday lying in bed praying I'd become feverish enough to justify calling out from work. Of course I woke up this morning feeling less than half dead. I should have called out anyway, since I ended up having to go out and see patients, but I think if I feel the same way I feel today I will definitely spend tomorrow convalescing.

The plan for this year is to spend more time out. Not necessarily socializing, but just engaging in activity that's counter to my general inclination to give the world a big "screw you" and hide underneath my heated blanket (except in the summer, of course). I signed up for bellydancing classes, swimming lessons, continuing ed accelerated spanish at nyu, and running classes with the NY Road Runners (the running stuff is not until March and is me thinking VERY optimistically about my abilities at this point). I also want to finally work on getting my driving license and intend to call for lessons within the week. Joy.

Thanks. If I was self-motivated enough I'd just do it at home using multimedia, but it seems I need a school experience to get into language.

All of that sounds like a lot of fun! I know that most of the time when I 'force' myself to go out or do something, it's far more fun than I think it will be, so hopefully you'll feel like that about everything that you've signed up for!

The classes sound fun, and yay for dehermitizing. I'm always reluctant to go out and be social, but it's always more fun than I thought it would be. Here's hoping you enjoy your new fun forays!
