Saw Captain America: The First Avenger yesterday afternoon. It was pretty unremarkable, definitely one of those movies that you don't feel moved to see again but neither do you feel like your time was necessarily wasted. Chris Evans is a great choice for Steve Rogers, in that he's rather bland. So there's that.

But. BUT!! After the credits, we got a great Avengers teaser trailer. Loki! More half-naked Thor! Hawkeye! Tony Stark being Robert Downey Jr. Tony Stark! Loving it. Can't wait until next summer.

and then I came home and totes started re-reading Steve Rogers/Tony Stark buddy fic. Besties FTW!! Civil War? What's that? *ignores*

I do like my superhero movies, and try to encourage them to keep making them by going..... Do you think it's bad enough to miss? (Half-naked Thor? I do like the sound of that.... ^^)

I think if you like superhero movies and you're remotely stoked about the Avengers movie and want to be a completionist in regards to watching all the connected films you need to watch Captain America. It's not *actively* bad, it's just not very remarkable. Chris Evans is no Chris Helmsworth, both in looks and in charisma. Which, you know, great Captain America, but not so great when it comes to headlining a film.

And the half-naked Thor is only in the teaser trailer, so if you go into the movie anticipating PECS OF STEEL you're going to be waiting for a while. :)

*l* I won't expect them up front, but it's something nice to look forward to! ^^ I think I will end up catching it... What the heck, go for the complete set, eh?
