Okay, so I'm sort of flummoxed right now. I have a Federal Direct Loan that I'm paying off, prior to this month I had an electronic payment set up. Last month, instead of taking out the regular amount on the 6th of the month, the payment was noted on my bank account on the 27th. A few days ago I received a statement on the Direct Loan header asking me to make a payment by the 7th. BUT! I thought I had the electronic payment set up. The statement is telling me to go to MyEdAccount.com to make a payment or do an account inquiry. Since I don't trust .com websites out of habit I tried to call the listed 800 number. Only to be told that there is a "high volume of calls," and I should visit the damned website.
Anyone else dealing with this right now? I am very confused. If the Feds sold my loan to another agency I received absolutely no advanced notice.

Date: 2011-11-02 12:01 am (UTC)eta - so I managed to get through. But they're experiencing "high call volume." My wait time to speak with a representative has been ten minutes for the last fifteen minutes. These bastards want to keep me on hold listening to their porny annoying musak until I lose it and kill my family.
