Somehow, for me, an idea loses its attraction once I've done something towards realising it...
I'm unsure if it's a lack of confidence in myself, hallmark of a flighty nature, or my failsafe way to ensure I don't become bored. Maybe an unholy mixture of the three. I'm the sort of person that will buy books on a topic, read them zealously, and not go much further than that. I'm here, getting all excited for school in the fall and the classes I'm thinking of taking, and realizing that, if my pattern from the past holds, I'll eventually get bored and jaded with the whole process. I prefer to fantasize rather than to do. It's easier on the heart and the mind, I've found. My folks call it straight-up laziness, and I guess they sort of have a point. But (maybe this is just me not owning up here) sometimes I'd like to think it's a little deeper than that.
