I'm restless today. I know it has to do with my nervousness over the GRE I'm supposed to take tomorrow afternoon. I'm underprepared. My schedule over the last couple of weeks hasn't helped, yes, but I just didn't study over break as much as I should have. Having never taken a speech or persuasive writing course, I'm actually most worried about the Writing Section. It's not like I can't take this again, I know, but the fact that all GRE scores are reported to schools (not just your best one) is a troubling bit of news. Oh well. Nothing I can do now besides lose $115 by not showing up. And I think twice is more than enough of that. It'll be a learning experience.

Just chill, don't worry. If you think you did really bad on it, you can ask at the end to not have them be reported, or so I recall.

The GRE reports are cumulative. So if I suck it up on this one and decide to take it again, any schools I choose to report my score to will get my (hopefully) excellent second score and my (most likely) horrendous first score. You can choose not to report scores now, but if you plan on going to grad school sooner or later the truth will come out.

And don't mind me. I mini-freak over most things. It makes a good grade a cause for wondrous relief and a bad grade a non-disappointment.

Asking as a college dropout, what's a GRE?

GRE = "Graduate Record Examination".
A standardized exam, like the SATs or ACT, required for a certain number of grad programs. Infinitely painful and somewhat pointless (like the SATs, ACTs, and any number of standardized tests out there).

Well, there wasn't the writing part of the GRE when I took it (I assume it's part of the general test...?), but I think that after you've taken the test, you have a choice of whether you want the results from it to be sent out. Granted, you did this before anyone evaluated your work, and you didn't get your money refunded, but if you think that you did really badly, there was that option.

Anyway, I'm sure that you'll do fine...especially on the writing portion. While they're definitely not formal writings, your entries are very well-written. I'm not just saying this, either...both of my parents were English majors in college, and some of it rubbed off on me, despite my best efforts to resist...
