Yay
taii! One of us. One of us.
Friday. New BSG. Eh.
Things weren't looking good during the first couple of minutes. The whole "reporter gets unlimited access to space ship and its crew" has been done numerous times on sci-fi shows and non-sci-fi shows (sans spaceship, of course). Lucy Lawless was hot, but that wasn't enough to do it for me until...naked ApolloNAKEDAPOLLO
I didn't find it hot so much as fascinating. I kept sing-songing "Naked A-pollo! Na-aked APOLLO!" randomly during the rest of the episode. And, fine - he wasn't totally naked. That has to be the smallest towel in space, though; Bamber is a smallish man (in height, anyway...let me stop). I guess since Six didn't imaginary-screw Gaius this week they had to introduce hawt some other way, pleasing the het. female and gay male demographics. It went back to "eh" status when Tigh's wife made an appearance, but the end reveal saved it a little. I have more thoughts on this episode besides commentary on who looked fine, but I'm going to save it because most of y'all don't care and if you do you better damn well say what you thought of the episode in a reply. Please. But, in the meantime-

A cap of the two most attractive pilots on Battlestar Galactica. I love this shot.

I read Howl's Moving Castle over the last couple of days, finishing it this afternoon. I didn't see the little twist on the plot coming. It was cute, though. The entire story was interesting and British (best thing I could come up with). I wish to see the movie now, mainly to listen to Bale.

This entry makes no sense. I think I'm allowed, seeing as I've been remarkably lucent during the last few(for me, anyway). However, I'll stop.

Date: 2005-09-11 03:15 am (UTC)I told someone more or less the same thing a little while ago. The man's voice grates like nothing else.
I'm going to see it mainly because I liked the book and think seeing animated Wales might be fun. Japanese animation and I have a rather spotty track record, so if it turns out anything like Princess Mononoke (or whatever it was) I'll turn it off right quick.
I'd never read any of DWJ's work, but I'm going to give her portion of the Youth Section a visit next time I pass by the library.
