"All of my love..."
Aug. 25th, 2004 10:38 amYes, as the title suggests, I'm feelin' sort of Led Zeppelin-y this morning. When I get all stressed and scatterbrain-like, I pick musical moods. When I get Tool-ish is when bad things start to happen.
Yesterday night my brothers nagged me into watching a movie I had rented for us, mainly because a co-worker had mentioned it and said it was funny: How High, with Redman and Method Man. I knew after the first ten minutes that I couldn't make it through. Watching a guy get severely burned and then fall five stores does not comedy make, in my book. There was just no point to anything that was going on, and I felt really craptacular when I said it but I told them I couldn't watch anymore, then I went upstairs, washed up, and went to bed. Well, I did re-watch some of 13 Going on 30 beforehand. I liked that, even if it had its fair share of ridiculousness - what 13-year old wishes to be 30?? Honestly. At that age I wanted to be 21. 30 was OLD. Maybe because Jennifer Gardner has the goofiest sweet smile this side of ...something with a goofy sweet smile. She's gone from man-face to somewhat attractive in my book.
Yesterday was also my training at Shakespeare and Co. Pretty easy, seeing as I've been cashiering in one form or another for the last 5 years. I've been told you have to deal with a number of East Side snobs with their black American Express cards there, though, which has me just thrilled. At least the management knows about the snob factor, and aren't likely to get on your case about Customer Service.
I've found myself ruing my inability to use my Palm at the moment (I have the HotSync base but the power adapter seems to be AWOL). I have so many things coming up in the next three weeks, and I have had the hardest time keeping track of it all. I had no idea I had classes in two different Hunter campuses on the same day. It was only until the Access Lady told me that I had to go to the Brookdale campus for 1:30 on Friday that I realized it was so (and those bastards only gave me 8 hours - again, may they be subjected to puncturing with blunt objects). Ack. Lab ends at 5, and I have a shift at Shake and Co. from 5:30. Lovely.
A final note: The USS Merrimack needs a Chief of Security. This position is pretty important, seeing as it (apparently) has taken on a number of civilians. Anyone interested?
