The Anatomy test? Not that bad. I did keep the bulk of my fretting to the four hours right before, though, and ended up indefinitely postponing a meeting with my Lit teacher because of it, but still I think I did okay. If I can squeeze out a 90 or above I'd be golden. I SHOULD have gotten a hundred. When I was doing it I realized it was easier that I thought it would be. There weren't any of the intricate thought questions that I was used to from Neuro. Really straightforward. Results back on Tuesday, I think.
The Chem test is now in a week and a half. And here I was thinking it might have been on Tuesday. RE-diculously easy, if the practice exam is any indication. All multiple choice, and very little thought involved. I worked through the practice exam in 10 minutes with a bare minimum of study.
Jo called me this evening, inevitably cheering up my night. She's a temp Language Arts teacher in Baltimore (she works to get her MBA and she's subbing...the irony). Her students? not the brightest stars in the sky, if you get my drift. She's basically at her wits end with the misbehavior and the utter incompetence. She told me that she had a number of pupils that had been left back in the 6th grade a number of times and I didn't believe her. Thought she was exaggerating. Then she decided to read me from the assignment she'd given the class for homework last night - they had to write a poem on Malcolm X. I knew things were in a poor state when she tried to get through the first one and started dying of laughter immediately. The bit of wisdom she shared with me starts out:
"Roses are red/White people are pale;/Would you believe I seen Malcolm X in jail?"
Poet laureate if I've ever heard of one. It's more than horrible poetry; these kids can't spell the simplest words and their grammar is atrocious. Jo's about ready to throw up her hands. She seriously asked me if I could down and help her for one day. I'm just hoping she gets out of there with her sanity intact.
Ran into Maria. We're still supposed to head down to Kim's Video. Eh. We'll see how that pans out.
