Tool is for Lovers
May. 3rd, 2007 07:56 pmOkay, seriously FL, ya'll be slackin' sometimes. Why didn't anyone tell me that Tool was heading on tour? Gah! I find this out while I'm half asleep (notice how I'm almost always half asleep nowadays) checking out LJ when I should be sleeping the memory of the crazy night away (an alcohol withdrawal patient decided to book it; we ended up calling a "Code Flight" at 3 in the morning). The closest Maynard and Co. are getting to my neck of the woods is Atlantic City on June 9th (8th?) which is so not a problem because that's my birthday weekend and I've arranged my schedule so I have five or six days off around that time. BUT...can you truly capture the Tool experience live? I'm wondering this because the only tickets that are left now are via auction, either on Ticketmaster or by way of the gougers on EBay. I could spring for a pair of tickets and maybe plan a night stay over in AC, but would it be worth it?
And, holy shit, what is Roc doing on "My Name Is Earl"???
Right. Attention span of a goldfish right here.
There's a reason why Sportscenter is the last thing on my TV at night and the first thing to greet me in the morning: I have a thing for the boyish glee behind most of the stories. I find the way they've been amping on the MJ/Tiger Wood Pro-Am match-up extremely amusing. Of course, there are limits - while their gushing over Tiger and Roger Federer chatting it up during the US Open hit all my slasher buttons it got annoying quite fast.
I've had "Hooker With A Penis" running through my head for the last ten minutes. Man, I'd really like to check out that show. But the money. And I sorta want to try to save cash so I can purchase a MacBookPro (Dell won the poll, but those against Dell were really against Dell, so I went with second place...'sides, the 'Pros are nifty!)
Wait, now RUDY is on "Earl"? Good Lawd, what is going on in the world?
I only got around to seeing this week's "Heroes" yesterday, what with having to work Monday night. When I'd asked the brolets how it was they didn't seem too impressed so I sort of figured it'd suck. Oh. My. FREAKING. GOD., that episode was AWESOME! The best episode yet. The reveals! And the fights! And the loss of the emo!bangs! Just good stuff all around.
Speaking of heroes, Spider-man comes out in 3.5 hours. I'm planning to go check it out with Jo at IMAX next week Wednesday. I figure IMAX is the only way to go with something like this. Lucky for me, early weekday showings rarely sell out. It'll be crowded as a muth', but we should still be good to go.
This disjointed entry is brought to you by a headache, sleep deprivation, a stomach full of chili and tortilla chips, and by the number Pi.
