Don't make me go to Vegas
Oct. 25th, 2007 08:49 amDay Two of Vegas. We're staying in the mom-unit's time share, and it conveniently has a couple of internet-ready computer rooms (high-speed = whoo!) and a fitness center. Good times. The conference stuff actually starts Friday, although there is a n00bie ceremony this afternoon, along with a opening reception this evening.
The flight was long and annoying, as cross-country flights tend to be. Our entertainment options were sorely limited thanks to Delta's shoddy monitors, so I ended up re-reading a couple of Duet Press prints and gave my iPod up to the mom-unit (she gives "The Queen" one tired thumbs-up). Getting on the plane was the usual security nightmare, thanks to my bionic leg. The guard who patted me down was so damn thorough I felt like I needed a cigarette afterward. The least she could have done was bought me breakfast. Or left her number. Hmph.
There was gambling last night. Things didn't work out too well: I'm already in the negative column. I picked up tickets for Penn & Teller, and I think I want to check out Wayne Brady's show, but it depends on how much money I end up with at the end of the day.
This entry was way longer in my head. Hmm.
