Lately my LJ Friend's page has become quite quiet. I find myself wondering how much is due to people migrating to other social media, being engrossed enough in life to lose interest in journaling, and how much is due to attrition. It's one of the things about journaling and contact via a pseudonym-using community like LJ, that you never quite know when the people with whom you've shared and laughed but haven't connected with offline are gone for good.

But, right. It might just be because LJ has been a bear to navigate and use. Random log outs, auto-saves that don't actually save anything, ARGH.

That being said, I'm a bit of a stick in the mud, and I find it hard to use more than one outlet at a time. I'm neglecting my Facebook page, and I have never used my Dreamwidth account. I do hope to make a good faith effort to update more than once a week, laziness and fatigue be damned.

Today I met up with [livejournal.com profile] captainschlumpy to check out the Dekalb Market near Brooklyn Heights/DUMBO. It was small and definitely "raw," as one Yelper put it. We briefly walked around, grabbed some sweets (I had a bourbon bacon brownie that was...definitely a bourbon bacon bar of fudginess), then decided to head over the Brooklyn Bridge into lower Manhattan. The best part of the day occurred during our ride to the market, where a self proposed homeless woman informed us that we "obviously liked too much dick" when I told her that I wasn't going to give her any money. Fun times in the city.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to go see Fright Night after work. I'm hoping to tank up on the good vibes while I can, because this week is guaranteed to be godawful.

Yay! Michael Rosenbaum's in this episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia I'm finally getting around to seeing. /randomness.
