1. In order to get a good night's rest I must take a shower before going to bed.
2. I brush my teeth and wash my face while in the shower.
3. I have yet to find a purse that I like, so I tend to tote my green messenger bag everywhere. This is because I hate to go out without a book and/or a CD player. It's weird only when I'm dressed up formally with this multicolored green bag slung over my shoulder.
4. I don't like to sit on my bed while wearing any clothes I've had on during the day. Keeps the subway filth off of my sheets.
5. I've got nothing. I'm surprisingly not that weird anymore. I don't know what's happening to me.

I try to keep the whining to a minimum. Sometimes, you know, it pops out, but I do try to keep things in perspective. Thanks for letting me know I'm at least moderately successful. :)

2. a book: Liquor by Poppy Z. Brite
I read Liquor, I think. The bad thing for Brite was that I read it almost immediately after I'd read Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential. Even though she acknowledged in the introduction and in the dedication page that Liquor was "inspired" by Bourdain's book, it still came off as major fanfic to me. I much preferred the weirdness of her earlier works, although the one with the serial killer was too weird even for me.

4. what makes you happy: You know, I think it's been so long since I've been truly happy I've forgotten. Although, things that make me smile would have to include the typical "curling up beside someone you care about", spending time with friends, etc.

7. if you do, what is particularly good/bad about it: I get a smile when you go on about things you like - you seem to get rather... passionate about them. Recently, for instance "THE SPADER!"
8. an interesting fact about you: um, not sure if me interesting would be your interesting... but let's think. Nope, not coming up with anything that's not nerdy/geeky
9. are you in love/have a crush at the moment: Completely and utterly in love. And I wish I wasn't - it would be less painful.
10. favourite place to be: It used to be in my car, just driving round town. But now, it's not as easy to do.
11. favourite lyric: Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there,
with open arms and open eyes
12. best time of the year: Although I don't like going out in the sun, it has to be summer. It's just more a pleasing time. One of the girls at works think I may suffer from SAD... :)

1. a film: depends on the genre you actually like yourself, but from what I've seen you like Sci Fi, so I can go for my fave film: Aliens [only if you like horror as well, though]
2. a book: any of the discworld series. Although I'd now recommend Song of Fire and Ice as well, which I believe you've read anyway. Can't wait for the next.
3. a band, a song and an album: do they all have to be the same band? if so: Incubus. [really got in to them lately], if not, the song's Achetype by Fear Factory, and the album... I really like Lene Marlin's recent album "Lost in a Moment"

I've been thinking about Tool all day. Well, for the four or so hours I've been conscious. My ultimate favorite lyrics come from Forty-Six and 2.

Re: Recommendations - I've seen Aliens a number of times. It's one of my earlier movie memories. I remember getting the bejesus scared out of me when the Mother Alien popped back up in the escape plane. Still love it, though. I borrowed book one of Discworld a little while back. Never did get around to reading it. Once I finish Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell (if I EVER finish it - it's highly recommended, btw) I'll go back and pick it up.

I used to take bus rides into Amish country with my grandmother when I was younger. I don't remember much besides going into dining halls and tasting apple butter for the first time. And, oh yes, the horse buggies.

What's your favorite Smith film? I think mine is Dogma. Ignoring the talky nature of it, when it works it really works. Besides, it has Alan Rickman and Alanis Morrisette. I dragged my brother with me to see "Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back". That's the type of movie that benefits from a stoned audience, but we did laugh a good bit. Particularly funny - the part where Jay and Bob are sneaking into the laboratory while singing their own "stealth" music.
