fredericks: (Lady looks like a...dude??)

Yesterday: Two hours of sleep. Horrible clinical day (errors and clumsiness galore). Finished The Devil in the White City in 5 hours. Wished I was home sleeping. Met with the ladies of [livejournal.com profile] nycbookclub. Drank lots of yummy Thai Iced Tea. Had entirely too much fun while "discussing" a non-fiction book. Got home. Slept.

Today: Woken up by sound of vacuum in the hallway. Craved Thai Iced Tea off and on all day. Went to the PO. Returned library books. Started on The Line of Beauty. Discovered Comedy Central OnDemand and AdultSwim OnDemand. Wished I'd stayed in bed all day.

Things that would have made my day complete -
1. A quiet house
2. Thai Iced Tea
3. A thunderstorm (*pout* one flash of lightning and a clap of thunder in the distance does not count)

haha, I just got back from clinicals. I dropped my cell phone in urine and fell in the street in front of St. V's.

Awesome.

If I could get you some tea, I would. I don't even know what it is, heh. We just drink Milo's or any kind of sweet iced tea round these parts.

...Candice, why were you using a bathroom that had a urinal in it? ::eyebrow::
I hope you have full cellphone insurance. Aww.

You can sympathize...I hung a bag of Levaquil 21 hours early, I flushed a line and completely forgot about the whole "blood coming back out is normal, work fast!" part, I took too long giving a SC shot of heparin and might (might?) have given it IM instead (in part, anyway), and my patient was the whiniest thing this side of Whineville. At one point I envisioned myself smacking her. I...yeah.

*grin* And I'd drink tea with you. We should synchonize tea drinking after particularly trying clinical days. Thai Iced Tea recipes. (http://www.blueray.com/thaitea/recipes.html) Yummy.

That tea looks good, except I don't know what star anise is. I think I've seen it on Iron Chef before, I'm going to look it up. And yes, that sounds like a splendid idea.

LOL thats whats so sad. So I went in and did my assessment on my mom, and
was going to d/c her foley, but I had to empty the bag first. I only have the one pocket on my chest, my cell phone was in it, and I have this pee in the measuring thing and out plops the phone and wastes about 50 ccs of urine. Disgusting.

I just hosted a book club meeting last night! I made yummy food and drank some wine with some ladies. We had read Nancy Drew (so girlygirly!), comparing the 1959 version with the 1970 version of the 'same' book. And it turns out that Caroline Keene had been a pseudonym. Huh. Well, that makes a bunch o' sense. Next month we're reading Anna Karenina. Hopefully, I'll finish in time.

I love Thai Iced Tea, and it has been far too long since I've had some.

Sorry about the clinical. Two hours of sleep su-ucks. My sister (who's only a senior in high school) just told me she wants to major in Clinical Laboratory Science. She'll be going to college in NY--but in Buffalo.

*grin* That's how I always envisioned my book club, going to the houses of the members and eating/drinking to our heart's content, but I felt it'd be unfair because I couldn't host anything at my place. I think it's cute that you all read Nancy Drew. :) Anna Karenina...I should get into the classics, you know. I haven't read any "real literature" since my senior year of HS.

Clinical Laboratory Science. Is she looking to become a lab tech or does she want to go to medical school?

I think medical school--but I think she was more interested in psychiatry. Well, since she hasn't even started school, it's not like she's locked into anything. Just thought I'd throw that out there because of the word 'clinical'.

Thai Iced Tea. That sounds yummy.

How I miss On Demand. It's one of the greatest inventions ever. :P

*shakes fist at weather* I really wanted a storm too! That one clap of thunder mocked us, I tell ya. :(

And then today we were supposed to get thunder AGAIN and all we got was the piddling rain I like to call "Heavenly Spittle". Gah.

Yay Lynn! Just because. *grin*
