Smartania's Generally Sarcastic Guide to Anime. The only movies/shows I'm familiar with there are "Gravitation" and "Princess Mononoke". I disliked them both, so I was particularly giggly over the recaps. If you're looking to waste time, Smartania is a great place to go, btw.

And for the FMA fans, Conqueror of Shamballa in Five Minutes. This is funny, and more enjoyable than the movie (IMHO). Nazis! ::shakes fist::

ETA - More fic, FMA-style. It's definitely outside of the series/movie timeline, but it's some well-written (IMO) wartime stuff. There's the slightest *hint* of implied non-canon coupling in the second part, but there's no explicit sexin'. I was captivated by it, and figure some of y'all might enjoy it as well. I've linked to Part V (the latest part); there are links to Parts I-IV at the top of the post.

Surprisingly, I'm not an "animewh0re". At the moment I'm too Westernized for my own good, and often find myself annoyed? at-odds? unable to connect with the characters I meet in anime. I like teh pretty as much as the next person, but I need to be able to see where characters are coming from in order to get enjoyment from a show. I think if I expose myself to more (?) I might find some anime I like, but as it is even though I enjoyed shows like "Samurai Champloo" and "FullMetal Alchemist" I had issues with them as well. So it would seem I can't answer your inquiry.

For a show my favorite would probably be "Helsing" or the "Ninja Scroll" series, movie is "Samurai X", favorite character is probably "D" from guess what? "Vampire Hunter, D".
