Vegas was AWESOME. The hotel room was spectacular (Caesars, baby!), caught a couple of shows (Cirque du Soleil's "O", Avenue Q), touched "Thunder from Down Under" ass (so hard! VIP seats, oh yeah!), and otherwise forgot about my troubles for a bit. I can't wait to go back. Took a bunch of pics that I'll post once I locate the USB cable.

I realized today that I'm going to turn 26 in two weeks. TWENTY-SIX. For a while I'd thought I was turning 25. I don't know why I was so startled by it, aside from feeling like I'm old and quite out-of-the-loop.

26? naaaa... still a young thing. I'm 28 this year :(

And good to see you had fun in vegas - now get with the pictures!

I'm 28 as of yesterday--but I still don't feel old.

for many years now, I've not been able to think of myself as the age I really am. I'm aware of it, but don't think I am it - if you get my meaning.
I think we all have an age that we reach, then mentally stop being much beyond it. I hit 18, and that was it.
Sure, I've gained 10 years of wisdom and experience since then, but I don't really feel much different from back then.

Relatively speaking. I'm still old to me. As you've never aged beyond 18 I've never aged beyond 21. Every time I'm reminded I begin the "man, I'm *ancient*" mini-whine. *grin*

Huh, so you're a Gemini too. Awesome. I keep hearing about so many seemingly non-Vegas-y types realling digging Las Vegas. I totally want to go some day. And not gamble. I'm starting on your hat soon. (and scarf, too)

I had no money to gamble with once I paid for the various shows I wanted to go to, so that wasn't too bad. The crowds got crazier as we headed into Memorial Day weekend, but otherwise it was possible to take in the sights to my heart's content. And the view from the hotel room was wonderful. I spent time every evening looking out the window listening to the fifth Harry Potter book on CD.

Ohh, how was Avenue Q?

I enjoyed it. The seats were rather cheap and the venue was smaller than I thought initially. I liked that it was quirky and funny and adult. Occasionally I'll hear "Gary Coleman!" in my head and giggle. I laughed a lot and "aww!"'d a couple of times, surprising myself (I rarely actually go "aww!" out loud, but sometimes things were so sad I couldn't help it). I think I'll see if I can catch it on B'way this summer.

Wow, sounds like an awesome Vegas trip.

Holy crap, you're almost 26? Geez, you're like 3 years older than me! You're like old enough to be my MOM! ;)

Of course I am, whippersnapper. :)

Vegas isn't Sin City for nothing, although the only sin that really got shoved in my face (literally) was lust. My cousin started collecting the call girl cards that people were handing out on every damn corner. Gluttony and greed were close behind.

Haha, yeah, they made a whole featurette about the "sex trading cards" on the Gooncon 2k4 DVD (Gooncon 2k4 took place in Las Vegas).

Best.Episode.EVER. I bought the soundtrack because of that teaser opening. I hope you haven't been spoiled for the 2nd part. It continues the goodness.

And thanks for the early B'day greetings.

Thanks! Stupid cable seems to have been vanished by the phantom mouse I had in my room or something. I'll have to dig around for it hardcore this weekend.

Tragedy of epic proportion. :)

I don't think I'll ever consider myself a day over 21. Quite a shame, really.

Welcome back! I was just thinking today that it'd been a while since I'd heard from you, and I was wondering what happened....I forgot that you had gone to Vegas. Lucky you, I wanna go! :0 Win any money at the casinos? :)

As for being 26, and being old....wanna trade? You think 26 is old, try being 33. :-P

Ah, the casinos. :)
I went with not a lot of money, which was okay as my aunt paid for housing and the bulk of our meals. By the time I ponied up for the shows I wanted to see I had next to nothing left. I gambled a little but lost what I played, and spent the last two dollars I had on a pastry the morning we were to leave. I went home with my wallet so empty it was emitting dust bunnies. Next time I'll buy as many of my tickets in advance and just play the tables; the slot machines are money hogs but it's a fast thrill I'm trying to wean myself off of.

And no trading. Health and luck willing I'll get to 33 soon enough. Then I'll start bitching about it. Yay! predictability. :)
