On the World Cup

Own goal. Own frakkin' goal. We laughed our asses off when the Colombian (?)player scored one and obviously karma decided we needed a taste of our own medicine. Sure, the only way we could have advanced was if Sweden lost to England and we beat Paraguay by two and if Venus and Mercury were aligned in the correct position, but still. *sigh*

Time to go back to avoiding soccer again.

I winced when that own goal happened. I was really rooting for T&T -- it's as close I'm going to get to seeing a Jamaican team have a shot -- and that really put a damper on my day.

England actually beating Sweden would have required Becks to show up for work once in a while I think.

The England/T&T game was worse. You mentioned it, I believe. So depressing. One of my classmates is from there as well and we had a real-time webpage up monitoring the game. When I glanced up during post-conference to see the score go from a promising nil-nil to zero-one and then zero-two during the last five minutes it was quite depressing. To *think* of the victory if it had occurred...the ability to run decades of rule in England's face. Would have been priceless. Oh well.

*grin* Beck's been coasting on the pretty, you mean. England's bound to get knocked out soon so no matter.
