fredericks: (Frowny face)

I don't do heat, I *don't*, my heritage be damned. It's 10:20PM and I'm stressing over assignments, I'm sweating, my face feels slightly...greasy? (why?!?), and tomorrow and Tuesday are supposed to be worse. Much much worse. Frak, frell, whateverthehell.

I finally caught the first episode of Farscape. I was feeling bad about not having seen a full episode before, like I should give up my geek card or something. It was okay. I suppose I'd have to watch more than one to pick up on things and have it get under my skin (as the little voice in my head says "all it took was the BSG mini before you raised your fandom placard over there, so nyah!"). Crichton looks remarkably like Daniel from SG-1, and that must *thrill* the peeps that watch it now; sorta like Doublemint Twins only naughtier.

eta-I housesat this weekend. Managed the "no internet/no cable" much better this time around, filling the time with BSG S1, Farscape, The Matador, and parts of the newer Hitchhiker (even Mos Def and Alan Rickman's voice couldn't stop me from pressing "eject"). The Matador was a quirky little film, weird enough that I probably need to watch it again to see if I really liked it. Greg Kinnear, though...you can do no better. Friday night I fell asleep to Grimaux's rendition of some Bach Sonatas and it was the best transition this unattached gal could ask for. Now I'm back home with all the TVs blaring and the brothers doing their thing (*sigh* to "long showers") and the craziness.

*grin* Good, so it's not just me with my dirty mind seeing things, then. That makes me feel all sorts of better.

I've really wanted to get into SG-1 for the longest time but I hate to jump into TV shows in the middle of things and it's nigh impossible to catch up with SG-1 as they're into season 10 and all. The few stand-alone episodes I've seen have been really interesting.

Heh, I wouldn't say it's impossible. I hadn't seen an episode of SG1 before the middle of this past December, and now I've seen them all. Of course, I spent nearly every waking moment for half of December and most of January catching up too, so... :)

I have never watched Farscape myself, so I wouldn't be worried about your geek standing. Although with Crichton and Claudia Black both on SG1 now, I have been thinking of DLing or Netflixing it.

That's dedication on your part! *grin* I remember when I got really into FullMetal Alchemist I think I watched all 50 episodes in something like...a week? a week and a half? 9 seasons times 20 episodes...I don't think my sanity could handle that much Stargate. But when I go back to Netflix (and I WILL go back to Netflix, it's like crack or Lays chips...you can't stay away) I'll be adding that show to my queue, no doubt.

I wouldn't call it dedication...I think the word I'd use would be obsessed. :) I tend to get obsessed with new things that strike my fancy like that. I watched all of Firefly in one sitting the first time, and I think I watched all of the first season of Lost in one weekend as well. If I had easy access to all of Buffy, I don't think I'd be coping with the one-episode-per-weekday diet I am on now. :)
