The three day stretch at work is OVAH. My last day was Tuesday and I'm off until next Tuesday. The unfortunate thing about working from 7PM until 7AM, getting home at 9AM, sleeping from 11 until 5PM, and starting the whole thing again for three days in a row - apart from the whole "having no life" bit, of course - is that my sleep pattern has been officially messed up. This explains why I slept the day away Wednesday, stayed up until 5AM Thursday, "napped" from 5PM to 10PM Thursday night, and am currently up at 3:30AM Friday morning. The positive? I'm catching a couple of great episodes of "The First 48".

The cruise my friend and I were planning? Definitely on, with our deposit put down. We're heading out to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel via Carnival December 8th through the 15th. The only boats I've been on were the Circle Line around the Harbor and the Staten Island Ferry and my excitement level is through the roof. I'll be saving up for that and my conference trip out to Vegas in late October. Yes, sure, I'll be sitting in on panels and the like, but those tables aren't going to play themselves.

I do hope to do something with my room along the lines of snazzing it up with furniture and getting rid of the carpet, but I'm really going to need a couple of vacation days to make it happen. Maybe I'll work it piece-by-piece, packing a box or two every day and then take vacation in late June to go all hardcore. I really do require a taskmaster of some sort to get things done. Nothing much else to note. Still making my way through The Wire (Stringer Bell is an XL INDEED, my god) and slowly re-reading A Song of Ice and Fire.

Birds that start chirping at 3:45AM? Need to move far far away.

I'm hoping so. Of course, there's a good chance I'll get extremely nauseated and/or get hit with Legionnaires while at sea. It's best to look on the bright side, though. :)

Yep, just concentrate on how cool it will be!

If we could take most of my highschool band on a cruise and completely avoid major illness, I think you'll be ok.

We have those fuckers. God... hate them so much.

And yay for being free (and re-reading A Song of Ice and Fire)! Two of my favorite things ever!

Seriously, what is with them? They're not quite as bad as the pair of birds that started up at 1AM (and I am SO not joking) last summer, but knowing my luck those two would have bred.
