I have thirteen work days left until I'm free and clear (oh yes; I've counted). My letter of resignation's submitted, my letters of reference are in the works, and I've completed all the preliminary work on my part for the new job. I know that if I work out my days I'll (eventually, because HR is slow) get a check for my accrued sick/vacation time. A nice check. But I dislike that place so much I just don't want to go back. Like, never. Like, never ever ever. Like, I want to call out sick for the next thirteen days. I swear, if I go in tomorrow (ha! today, as it's 4 in the morning) and I float I'm going to flip out.

Emotional sickness, that place makes me emotionally sick. Did the Geneva Convention not cover this?

you have less than two weeks. you're going to pull through this, and it's actually going to make you stronger. i know it sucks, but you've got someplace good waiting for you on the other side.

Start calling in sick every other day. What are they going to do, fire you? You'll lose your sick time otherwise, right?

at my work, and I know at several other companies, if you give your "2 week" resignation you're escorted out the door immediately.

Ha. I wish. They'd be way too short staffed now, with some people on vacation.

*grin* I know. I just keep hoping they take the choice out of my hands and ask me to stay home. But that check would be pretty useful.
