Things wot I did this weekend:
1. Watch movies in movie theatre: "Monsters Vs. Aliens" (meh), "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (also meh).
2. Spend a great deal of late Friday night and Saturday afternoon finishing up work from Thursday and Friday.
2.5. Silently freak out about being deemed incompetent and thus fired from job (always fun).
3. Read (fanfic).
4. Sleep late.

Things I wanted to do but didn't manage:
1. Do The Great Saunter around Manhattan on Saturday (mainly because of the work I had to complete, partly because of the inaccurate prediction of awful weather for the day).
2. Go to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens Cherry Blossom Festival.
3. Write (fanfic).
4. Finish Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Random comments:
1. An "Origins: Storm" movie? NO HALLE BERRY NO!
2. Seriously, screw you.
3. For a big (mass) person, my alcohol tolerance is embarrassingly small. Which is why I can't figure out why I haven't learned I should not consume *anything* alkie on an empty stomach.

I'm about 1/4 of the way through. I think it's one of those concepts that work best as a chapter excerpt parody, you know? It's beginning to read like a joke that's gone on three beats too long. But, who knows? maybe it becomes more interesting as you get closer to the end. Have to say, one thing that doesn't get old is the way it inserts the occasional zombie related line into the story without breaking Regency style.

hm. the idea is interesting, but since i have yet to get through a single jane austen novel (shameful, i know), i doubt i'd be able to make it through that. plus i'm not much of a fan of zombies. do let me know if it gets better, though!

I read Pride and Prejudice a couple of years back and, English majors everywhere forgive me, but I only completed it through the grace of God. It bored the heck out of me. HOWEVER, I found the BBC version with Colin Firth quite...stimulating (*ahem*), so I thought the P&P&Z book was funny when one imagined the characters from the TV remake as the folks killing zombies. If you can't stomach Austen P&P&Z probably isn't for you. If you like parody zombie tales you should be okay, though.
