I am stoked that vacation is drawing near. I'm coming to find that the summers are miserable at work because we're constantly scrambling to cover for nurses who are off. And managers that are off - I was coerced into working Friday (my day off after working this past weekend) because my manager requested the day off as well. I'm getting paid overtime for the day, but I just *know* I'm going to be forced out into the field to see patients instead of actually sitting at my desk doing my job. I make the time fly by counting down the days until my train trip down to ATL and the geekfest that is DragonCon. This Con will be more low-key (bwah) than last, but I think I might be able to see more by not just focusing on the big name panels...although, I'm not even going to front, I WILL be one of those people camping out in front of a ballroom 5-6 hours before the Joe Flan/Ben Browder/Jason Momoa panel of hawtness (I'm pretty sure that's what it's going to be labeled in the Pocket Guide).

Something I forgot to mention in my last post: shown prior to the hideousness that was G.I. Joe was a trailer for the live action Avatar: The Last Airbender film (just titled The Last Airbender, thankyouverymuch James Cameron). I wasn't able to form much opinion from what was shown, although the director still gives me pause.

What I'm definitely excited about? Chris Rock's film scheduled for release in October - Good Hair. It looks to be amusing and a conversation starter, and I'm looking to drag a couple of folks along with me for the ride. *ahem*

The weekend certainly is taking its sweet time in getting here, huh? ::reminds self it's Tuesday::

They said "Yo, Joe!" Once, I believe. And they also said "and knowing is half the battle." It was bad. Eye-gouging bad.

It had Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and it was still awful. Jesus, Mohammed, and the Spaghetti Monster combined couldn't redeem that thing.
