An update of sorts

- Contract negotiations wrapped up a couple of days early (thankGOD). No strike and we managed to get pay raises for everyone. Two year contract; will do it all over again in 2012. Oddly, I'm looking forward to it (if I manage to get elected to the team, that is).
-Attempted to relax this weekend by walking up and down the city spending entirely too much money. Got Seasons 3 and 4 of The Wire (littlest bro is supposedly watching S1 and S2 up at school so I'm hoping to slowly convert all of the brolets) and the complete series of Strangers With Candy.
-Weight's been more or less stable, even taking into consideration all the frustration eating I managed to work in during the two weeks of intense negotiation meetings (horribly wonderfully tempting cookies and cakes with every catered meal = one guilty Fredericks). I became annoyed with my hour back and forth commute to the gym so I've been sticking with Wii Fit (picked up Wii Fit Plus during my city sojourn) and DVD workouts. I've been waking up around 4:30 to exercise before work, hence my new bedtime of around 10pm (yes, I'm going to start watching Matlock pretty soon). I start Pilates tomorrow and took part in a teleconference-type support group this evening that was ... interesting. Still most likely will end up looking into therapy but I'm finding it hard to even initiate the search for that sort of intimate relationship.
-Valentine's Day is fast approaching. Joy. I should start my startled ostrich impersonation right about now.
-I AM looking forward to my b'day cruise in June. Only four more months until the big 3-0.
-Cue the suck: I was denied Labor Day weekend off from work and might not be able to go to DCon this year. Of COURSE this is the year David Hewlett might make another appearance. And the year Jim Butcher is confirmed. Along with Rene Auberjonois. AND the idiot head of the Trek Track has been dismissed, meaning the interviews/content of the Trek-run stuff might actually hold my interest this year. Hopefully I can work the weekend before and take the Thursday and Friday off.
-I am planning on sitting for my learner's permit test this Friday. I should start studying, yes?
-I'm also scheduled to work this weekend. I was actually going to brag about having a three day weekend until I remembered that little tidbit. *is sad*

Date: 2010-02-04 02:20 am (UTC)Good luck with the learner's permit! Is it just a written test? If it's anything like the one I wrote, I'm sure you'll do fine.
