May. 26th, 2010 07:48 pmLemonade! Wants it! My precious!
Hot like burning right now. I'd be enjoying it more if my house had central air. Or if I had powerful fan. As it is my very cute ceiling fan with blades shaped like leaves (my bedroom is painted in shades of green, I thought I was making a wonderful decorating statement) is doing nothing but circulating oven hot air. It's seriously like sitting underneath the set dryer in a beauty parlor. I'd love a stray thunderstorm to roll through sometime soon.
Because I have the attention span of a gnat I started another book this morning, the first Cal Leandros book, Nightlife. More fluff (I read so much escapist literature it's not even funny), and for some reason the story along with the author's prolific output (five books in the series over the last four years) reminds me of Butcher's Dresden books. But I'm totally sucked in, to the point where I went down to B&N during lunch and picked up every paperback Leandros book currently out. Obviously my reading list isn't long enough.
And, uhm, I signed up at
smallfandomfest to write some stuff this summer. Yikes? Begone, Writer's Block! Hopefully.

Date: 2010-05-31 02:11 pm (UTC)Btw - I'm halfway through the second book in the Cal Leandros series at the moment and I'm forcing myself to finish because the plot has lost all momentum and I bought the other four available books and now am stuck with them.
Card = Orson Scott Card, author of Ender's Game and staunch Mormon with antigay views. (http://www.afterelton.com/people/2008/7/orsonscottcard)

And thanks for the Card link. I remember reading something about it when it first came out, but I was busy and it didn't quite register on my radar. Crazy.
