Songs, because a few instantly spring to mind. Good goosebumps, every one. I've listened to them on repeat too many times to count:

1. and 2. Paranoid Android and Exit Music for a Film, Radiohead. Never fails. I heard it for the first time when working at a late-night grill spot in college. It was an eye-opening experience. A co-worker popped OK Computer into the boombox, and when Exit Music for a Film started up I almost ended up crying into some jock's omelette order.

3. Antonio Vivaldi's Recorder Concerto rv 441, I. Allegro non molto. The 32nd note solo in the middle always has me falling out. With envy, but still.

4. Little Earthquakes, Tori Amos. So very powerful.

5. The (After) Life of the Party - Fall Out Boy. I know, I know, it's Fall Out Boy. But Patrick Stump's voice really is quite amazing. Patricks held note near the end gets me every time.

6. This Is How I Disappear - My Chemical Romance. If the question was what album beginning have I listened to the most, My Chem's The Black Parade's first four tracks would be here. But as for goosebumps? Fucking Disappear always gets them up on me. It's like The End and Dead are the perfect segues to this song.

And if I were to mention bad goosebumps, Cancer from the same album would have to be mentioned. It's one of those songs that I simply cannot sit through.

I'd never heard much OK Computer, but "Exit Music" was awesome. Also, I'm vaguely disappointed that Patrick Stump seems to be much better with FOB than on his own. I'd definitely thought the reverse would be true.

I think Patrick's turn to pop music doesn't really work for him. His voice is great, but I can't see him with much success hitting up the club/dance scene. At least, not with what he's put out so far. I only previewed some of his stuff over at iTunes and wasn't very impressed.

I don't know what direction he should go in, but pop isn't where it's at for him. Maybe more bluesy, soulful stuff? Then again, with an Adam Levine-style voice, that's not exactly up his alley, either. Maybe the secret is that FOB was just greater than the sum of its parts.

And I feel sort of bad for him, because he's ridiculously young beside. I felt like he would have gone the Elvis Costello route after listening to Folie A Deux, but then he'd just remind me of every busker I see at my subway station. Which, you know, can still happen. I'd fall out, but it could happen.

Maybe the secret is that FOB was just greater than the sum of its parts.
I have to agree. I mean, what *was* Fall Out Boy besides Patrick's voice, Pete's lyrics, nice production, and unremarkable playing? But, magic. Huh.

So much this. I don't tend to buy into the musical magic hype, but there really was something about Pete and Patrick together that they can't seem to recapture on their own. Get your shit together, boys, and then get back together. It's the only way.

ETA: Also! I don't know if I can talk you into trying Google+, since you probably already have a Facebook account, but I'd totally love to see around those parts if you ever get the hankering.

I want Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco to get back together. Definitely a better sum situation.

I have a Facebook account but I rarely use it. I guess if you have any spare invites hanging around I'll take it, but I'll probably get bored. If I end up using it at all.
