Hee! That's hilarious. I love how you're not envious of my schedule when you're the one doing all the titrating and chemical mixing and the goggle-wearing and the general evil cackling. *grin* I'm blessed (or cursed) with a job where I can shut off my brain and get things done. You actually, you know, have to use more than two brain cells. I'm certain any of my weariness pales in comparison to what you have to put up with when you get let out of the lab.
The alone time thing is hard for my family and those I love to comprehend, I think. Making it harder for me to sit back and relax and thus making it harder for me to recoup. It's partly because I grew up with a ginormous family (West Indians seem to have kids by the litter) and partly because I'm just NOT a social person. Face to face interactions really take a lot out of me. And forget about S.O.s. I get the feeling that others tend to think me withdrawing is about *them* when (cliched as it may seem) it really is all about me.
