Project (Make Me) Happy

In breaking news, I'm out of my goddamned mind.

Today was the first day of the new semester of Project Happy. I ended up returning, mainly because the tax thing and the Best Buy thing AND the other various jobs I've been looking into fell through (not that I'm the least bitter). The main thing I hate and will continue hate about PH is the wake up time it requires of me. Since I'm a work study student I'm supposed to mosey out to Brookdale for 8:15, requiring me to catch the 6:47 bus, meaning I have to wake up by 6:15 at the latest. NOT fun, particularly on a Saturday. I managed it today by the grace of some higher power or another: my alarm went off for 6:00 and I went right back to sleep after hitting "Snooze", luckily snapping out of it at 6:30. I rolled out of bed, quickly washed my face, and ran outside with three minutes to spare.
So...right. I get off (the TRAIN, dammit) and walk to Brookdale. Today was actually tolerable. I had excellent excellent help from a new volunteer named Luis who stayed with me for the entire bowling session. The woman from Easter Seals continued to not help me organize the kids to get them playing, but having Luis as backup made everything okay. I'll never underestimate how important competent help is again. All my fave kids were there, and no one got out of hand. Surprisingly smooth, over all. Didn't end up leaving until 4:30 and didn't get home 'til 6, making it a 12 hour day. Le joy. Haven't done much of anything this evening 'sides watch some of the All-Star festivities, another part of "The Six Wives of Henry VIII", and a couple of Chappelle Show eppys. Oh, and I did something with my Friendster profile. Eh. I've come to realize that Friendster and MySpace are basically BlackPlanets for...non-blacks. People use 'em to communicate with their friends and occasionally get some cheap ass. Since I have none of the former and I'm not interested in the latter, I'm sorta out of luck.
