I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] lostmiseashellz what feels like eons ago. I do as I'm ordered.
Write 20 random facts about yourself then tag the same amount of people as minutes it takes you to write the facts. If you're tagged it's your turn.

1. Un-waxed I have eyebrows in the same league as Gale Harold, Peter Gallagher, Chris Noth, and Frida Kahlo; the suckas are large and in-charge. I used to think it was a good (read: "fashionable") thing, since my folks used to call them "perfect eyebrows". I learnt differently once confronted with the gossipy masses at adolescence.

2. I own two pairs of jeans.

3. My first crush was on cousin of mine, a tall dorky chubby lad with glasses. It would seem I developed a little bit of a pattern over time. Subconsciously, of course.

4. When feeling disturbed I tend to impulse buy books and CDs.

5. I walk with a slight limp, which becomes pronounced when I'm fatigued.

6. I occasionally think my life would be easier if I were male.

7. My first album was Alvin and the Chipmunks' Merry Christmas (from...), purchased for me by my father when I was one or two. We used to play it every Christmas, until the record player died.

8. I often pick at my lips with my teeth.

9. "Wiana" stands for "What's In A Name, Anyway?", what I used to have in my profile. I found the acronym to be neater and a little less pretentious-sounding. Mission accomplished?

10. The first CD I owned was classical - clarinet works played by Richard Stoltzman ( orchestra). It was given to me as a surprise by my elementary school band teacher right before Christmas break, after my bandmates left to return to class. It was the first truly meaningful present I received from anyone, I think (and, to be cynical, maybe the only one up to this point in my life as well). He always thought I had major potential.

11. It's taken me three tries to get through this meme. My computer's frozen by the time I start on answer #5.

12. I hate it in classes when people raise their hand to ask a question and then start out by saying "I have a question..."

13. The first CD I purchased was Aerosmith's Get a Grip.

14. I just can't seem to grasp most Japanese animation.

15. I started reading comics inadvertently, when a search under my uncle's bed turned up some issues of X-Men instead of the porn mags I'd been hunting.

16. I'd rather be ignored than patronized.

17. I own a Yanni CD. And the soundtrack to Riverdance. Both have been played a lot.

18. I was baptized Catholic, went to a Lutheran elementary, and now frequent an Episcopalian church. I figure I'm either going to chuck the religion out the door or go to Islam next.

19. Aerosmith's Don't Wanna Miss a Thing has negative associations for me.

20. I wish I hadn't gone to Italy.

Since it technically took me 23 hours to complete this thing, what with my shoddy computer and all, I'm not going to tag anyone. If you want to do it, go right ahead; I want to read your response.

It's a good thing that you found comics under your uncle's bed and not porn! Otherwise, you might have turned into a regular Larry Flint! :)

*grin* I'm sure that pathway would have been a helluva lot more lucrative than the one I ended up going down.

I love reading these things. It's often amazing how many things strike a chord with me.

Number eight - I do the same thing, as well as worrying away at the inside of my cheek. Gross habit, I know, but I can't seem to break it.

I don't get anime either :)

And Yanni and Riverdance...good music, no matter what the dorky connotations are from it :)

I also do #4 but I buy books and art supplies. Even with the amount of anime I watch, sometimes I still go "Eh?"

I definitely relate to number 4... whenever I'm feeling stressed, bored, or lonely, I go buy myself some CDs... or books, or dvds.

So what happened in Italy?

I seem to enjoy playing with the skin I manage to tease off. It's sickening when I think about it, but it's so hard to stop at this point. *grin* I figure you're in the same boat.

I feel bad about the anime because so many of my friends are into it so I keep getting suggestions. I want to like the hitchy-VO style and the way the characters are portrayed but I just can't. I end up feeling bad about it, as if my geek card should be taken away because I can't sit through more than a couple of episodes of Cowboy Bebop. I'm trying, though, still.

*grin* See, I listen to the man's stuff, and even I don't know if I can categorize Yanni as "good". Bombastic? sure. Sweeping? most definitely. It's intriguing and simplistic, and I've always liked the use of synths. But I'm with you - I'll hold my Yanni Live at the Acropolis CD high.

Call me obtuse, but I had no idea you were a serious artist. That's so cool. What medium(s)?

I feel bad about the anime because so many of my friends are into it. I feel like I'll have to give up my geek card unless I can find something to latch onto. I'm trying to get into Cowboy Bebop, but Cartoon Network shows it at such a late hour I usually can't stay up to watch it.

I can barely remember the trip now. I had fun, but there's so few mental reference left the most I can muster is an "I went to Italy" if someone asks if anyone has gone anywhere interesting. I spend the trip treating my friend like shit and pining over a drunken Russian asshole. I could have used the money for tuition or something, but instead...yeah.

Maybe when I get older I'll appreciate the experience more but now not so much.

Well, I don't know about serious....I usually do collage, mixed media(I like glue!) and I am trying to get back into drawing because there are so many inspiring artists out right now!
