Is it my fault that I've never been in a fight? I always thought that was a character bonus (IRL, of course). Hmph. When I'm playing I usually like to be a cleric or some sort of character that combines magicks and physical attributes, the only problem being they usually end up middling at both. Have I mentioned how much I'd like to play some old school tabletop D&D lately? Damn.

Brilliant! You are a Wizard!
Wizards are spells-casters who study powerful arcane magic. While Wizards tend to be pretty fragile, some of those spells can pack quite a punch. Unlike Clerics, Wizards aren’t as good at fixing people as they are at breaking them, so watch where you toss that fireball…
Your most distinctive trait is your intelligence. You're probably well learned and logical, if perhaps a bit fragile.

Of course, Snacktastic is a Mystical Theurge: as seen here and I will beat your ass with my awesomely moralistic arcane powers.

And me too, btw, whenever I play these games, I'm always a mage. Yay, me.

I get the feeling that [livejournal.com profile] snacktastic could whup my ass even if we weren't playing an RPG. [livejournal.com profile] snacktastic has quite obviously been hardened by years of hard time in on "Teh Streets" and would have no qualms with pulling out a butter knife on one [livejournal.com profile] fredericks.

...

Mommie!

[livejournal.com profile] snacktastic forges butterknife+1 which has a spell interruption rate of -10% and casts Holy on [livejournal.com profile] fredericks. [livejournal.com profile] fredericks has been smited. All hail the clerics. /prays. /em points and laughs at [livejournal.com profile] fredericks. But in a holy way.*

*final fantasy XI reference. Yes, [livejournal.com profile] snacktastic has been sucked in by that game

Damn Clerics, throwing out Holy like it's, uhm, holy.

*grin* I want to play FFXI, but my computer (aka an overgrown TI-81) couldn't handle it. Maybe I'll ask for the PS2 kit for Xmas and waste some time over vacation. I want to take a stab at that and Evercrack.

Yeah, if you do, you can get on the Alexander server and give me a shout-out. I can tell you how to get on it if you get a PS-2. I can show you stuff. It'll make me feel competent.

I always, always play a fighter. I guess I just like to hit things. With a sword. Usually a bastard sword. *sigh*

*grin* And you sigh about that? If I'm tabletop-ing I'll play as a fighter occasionally (once a blue moon, if our party if full of archers or *sigh* bardic elves), because even though your battle stats are pretty one-dimensional ("there's an orc army - can't roll for intellect, dexerity's for shit so can't run behind them...Fighter SMASH!") you can still shoot the shit with your fellow players. On PC based gaming I like being able to fight AND heal myself, hence the cleric leanings.

I used to play D&D all the time (*inner nerd revealed*), it was tons of fun. I'm with you......I always liked to be the mage/wizard types too, and I always chose to be a "good" player and never an "evil" player. O:-)

Heh. Nice halo. I could never find it in me to intentionally play an evil character, because I knew I'd suck at it major. Nowadays, though, I've love to play a character who, if not evil, had no compunctions about meddling on both sides.

Mages were awesome. You sit back and hurl stuff, having the brawny guys take the major damage. And you always kept your dexterity high in case you had to haul ass out of the fight. *grin*

Way back in the day when I played tabletop D&D I was always a cleric, and a pretty good one too. I think I liked the turn undead ability and carrying a big mace. Now in games like Neverwinter I usually stick with Rangers. For some reason I just think archery is cool.

I would love to play some old school tabletop D&D again. I miss it but there is no one I know who still plays. I even went so far as to buy the Players and DM's Guide when the 3rd edition rules came out.

*snort* As if you had to even mention that part. Nerdz 4 Lyfe, Dawg.

Oh, people still play tabletop. They're just more covert about it because of the proliferation of online games in the same vein. I'm tempted to give a D&D shout-out on one of the NYC communities to find players, but I know my schedule would make it almost impossible to find time. Oh, for Winter Break.

Hmmm. What do you do saturday nights? Did you know I play a D&D-esque game each saturday in new york? They could maybe refer you to someone.

Or mebbe, just mebbe, you could stop by and try it out, if we meet up and I trust your mojo.

We're snobs and audition gamers.

But... they're the best players I've ever seen evar.

Evar!

You come up to NY to play? That's awesome.

I'd volunteer myself, but the audition gaming is too elite for my taste. It's a great way to get (and keep) a good game going, though; I don't blame y'all one bit. Sides, my waxing poetic over playing was more wistful thinking than anything else; most of my Saturdays (and Mondays and Tuesday, etc etc) have been spent doing schoolwork or in the school lab.
