Never take recommendations from family.
Oct. 5th, 2007 09:36 pmThe FedEx package was my passport. It takes them 3 months to process the original, it gets lost in the post, I send out a new set of photos and get a reissued passport within 72 hours. Does not compute.
Had the guy over to put up my ceiling fan. No fan up at the moment. No power on the second or third floors of the house, either. The guy obviously didn't know what he was doing, and felt it was okay to leave us in the dark so he could come back tomorrow. I wanted to put my foot down, but my father told the guy it was okay to leave. My issue? the person who's paying the guy is NOT my father. And pops is acting like uber-dick too: pops spent a good 45 minutes going on and on about how he could have put the fan up easily, and the guys obviously didn't know what they were doing (duh), and then he called me arrogant for not asking him to take care of it in the first place (not directly, though, which was surprising). The reason I didn't ask him? he takes YEARS to finish things. I got some guy to come in to put trim around my windows because my father installed the windows seven years ago and *never finished the job*. Dad, of course, felt the need to bitch about the job the guy did (although, to be honest, the guy did do moderately shitty work), but as usual he bitches and still continues to do nothing. Gah. The guy is supposed to come back tomorrow. I just want him to restore the power upstairs and then get the hell out of my house.
Now, if y'all will excuse me, I have to hunt down a flashlight so I can get up to my bed.
