Here there be bitchin'
Dec. 20th, 2005 12:43 amI was going to hold back with this and see if there was actually going to be a public transportation strike in NYC but as I'm fucking exhausted and forced to stay up until things have been settled I figure I might as well vent.
Fuck Toussaint. Fuck him, and fuck him hard. SANS lube, and without a quarter of the hotness Jake and Heath managed to bring to the endeavor. The fact that he's a goddamned Trinidadian and I know how friggin' hard-headed those people can be (*sigh*) pisses me off even more. A couple of days ago I was cool with the whole idea of a strike. Yeah, millions of people would be stranded and/or majorly inconvenienced. Up to last night I was able to engage in nuanced discussion about the pros and cons of labor strikes and the activity (or lack thereof) of the NYC MTA. Want to know when that changed? WHEN MY DAMNED CONTINGENCY PLAN HAD TO UP AND PICK UP HER DAUGHTER FROM ALBANY (the nerve of some people, caring about their family's well-being and all). My new contingency plan? Get dropped off at the Jamaica LIRR station (LIR-effin'-R...mein gott; look what I may be reduced to), taking the train to Penn Station, and then taking the Path down to the World Trade. $4 each way for the LIRR. Lord know how much the Path costs. But no matter what happens I have to wait. Wait and see. Wait and see the night before TWO GODDAMNED CUMULATIVE FINALS.
So, yes - fuck you very much, Toussaint. I hope your black cake is super dry and your puncha creme turns this Christmas.
And, for the record: I like unions. At the moment I simply like passing my exams more.
