David Johansen or Mighty Sparrow aside (and you might mean Arrow, as he wrote the tune?), that tune gets old exceedingly quick even when played by a live band that is otherwise damn good.
Especially after they played it for at least a half hour solid.

I feel for the other two doing sound with me that night. I liked the guitar and bass lines, and didn't mind the drums. They, however, were drummers and they insisted it was the same exact beat through the entire night.
They were ready to swim across Boston Harbor to escape, a condition I didn't begin to approach until it looked as if the captain was going to circle the harbor one more time while Hot, Hot, Hot went into yet another brazillion choruses. As he wisely decided to steer for the dock, it didn't come to that. =)
And, of course, these days I find myself putting a reggae-like guitar and drum part in the new tune. Go figure.
