sternel, you will be thrilled to know that I took the plastic wrap off the S3 Due South set on Tuesday, as promised. Actually, I first took the plastic off of the S2 one thinking it might have been S3, which means that I've only seen S1 (I know! Jesus), then pulled S3 off my shelf. I opened up the tray, took out disc 1...then promptly replaced it, took a shower, and went to bed. So, you know, almost there.

::ignores the box of S1-8 of SG:1 on the floor, and the three Netflix DVDs languishing on my filing cabinet::

It'll happen, I know it will. Before Chinese Democracy comes out, at any rate.


What I have managed to sneak into my schedule? Torchwood S2, and that's only because I gave in and downloaded it from iTunes so I'm able to watch it on my commute to and from work. The show is still a victim of atrocious camera angles and lazy writing (although the whole amnesia pill concept is too blatant to be anything but hilarious) but, I've got to say, "Meat" and "Adam" had way more good spots than bad. I mean, the whole Gwen/Jack thing needs a serious rest, but the revamped beginning that came with "Adam" *alone* won them massive brownie points. Now I'm just patiently making my way through until I can revel in "Fragments" (Janto love!).

I have such a soft spot for Torchwood, just because it doesn't always automatically go for the 'easy' answer, sacrificing children in the first series for example, and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Mind you there's some truly appalling episodes in series 2. Godawful.

There's some truly horrible episodes in both seasons. The show isn't very consistent. But it is a fun ride.
