I stepped on the scale this morning as a form of punishment, because I woke up feeling like a complete butterball who is due, thanks to the genetic D&D die thrown for me when I was just a mote in my folk's eyes, to be hit with diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, and/or alcohol addiction somewhere down the line. I wanted the number to jump up from the display and mock me. It obliged: I'm at my lowest weight in at least two years. Funny, 'cuz I don't feel like I am. I'm still a bit at a loss.
