Nov. 26th, 2009 10:20 pmThe brined turkey was amazing: tender, not too salty, finger-licking good. I made a simple gravy of the drippings (sans giblets, because I detest that stuff) with a roux base, and that also kicked major ass. I also picked up a pecan pie from Whole Foods (they had an entire table laden with a number of pies near the check-out area and I just had to give in) and, Jesus, effin' joygasm in my mouth. Loved it. Family was over and we ate, chatted, and watched football. I don't think I could have asked for much more.
Remember, folks - tomorrow is WHITE GUILT AMNESTY DAY. Do with your pass what you will.
That is all.

No, I'm still kidding. :) But it was quite good. I'm glad your turkey day was good as well.
