Just woke up from nap/sleep. I had a dream that someone I've referred to in my journal sent me an e-mail opening up to me about what I'd typed. I'm laughing, thinking about my reaction in the dream when I opened up the letter ("oh shit"), but I think a part of me really wants that, and wouldn't mind if something like that happened.

I finally found an apartment room to sublet this summer. I was looking for a studio or single room dealie originally, but after thinking through my own gripes about my lack of socialization skills I decided maybe some forced interaction would be the best thing at this point, if only for 3 months. The apartment itself is smallish, but my room is nice and light-filled (no private bath this time around...I hope I can deal with that in stride). I've met one of my roomies; she seems a tad too chatty for my taste, but eh. she's a nice girl. Let's see what the folks say when they see the place. I'm sure the criticisms will not end. Heh.

And, coincidence of coincidences, Uwa used to live in the apartment. He's supposed to be coming down for graduation. I wonder if he'll remember me?

Summer Sublets!

I love summer sublets....

I once stayed in a room that cost me a hundred bucks a month. I had no furniture, slept in a sleeping bag (when I actually made it home to sleep) and awoke everyday to wade through the horse steroids in the fridge (my roommates were buff bodybuilding football boys)to get my milk, bowl, spoon and fruit loops before my shower.

After my shower, I'd go downstairs and sit in the living room to watch the water from the shower leak through the kitchen ceiling and form a pool around the dining room table. That's when I'd poor the milk into the bowl with the fruit loops.

Good memories. It was only a hundred dollars a month. And those were Canadian dollars too. Even cheaper!

And most suprising of all -- there weren't any cockroaches in that place. Go figure....

You know, you had me going for a good second there. I read up to the "hundred dollars" part and I was amazed. But when you throw in the juiced jocks, shoddy plumbing, and questionable meal choices (Fruit Loops? everyone knows if you're trying to get your daily allowance of food coloring you have to go with Lucky Charms!) it all sort of balances out. *grin*
I'll be paying $500/month and, to be honest, I'm not sure I *wouldn't* mind putting up with all that to get a better deal.
