Had a light bulb moment while cleaning the kitchen and figured what my ultimate "everything's downhill from here" goal is - to write a book. Published would be nice too, but just seeing if I can work something out without being stopped by fear of imperfection. Fantasy, most likely, because it's what I breathe. I know what I think works and what I think doesn't, and that's certainly a start isn't it? *ahem* And I start by actually making it through The Deluxe Transitive Vampire. Hmph.

Watching King of the Hill, the episode where Connie, Hank and Co. play bluegrass. Puts me in the mood for Allison Krauss and Union Station, I tell you what.

The Pink Panther remake commercial is playing. Beyonce Knowles can't act, but if Heather Graham is allowed to get work Lords know Beyonce should be too.

I want to see Something New. At first I didn't, because it looked like typical romance cheese and I didn't like the male lead. Now it still looks like romance cheese, but that Simon Baker character has grown on me. And I can't turn down the Faison. Ah, Turk...!

I've gotten into Samurai Champloo, as the icon attests. Much Jin love from this side of things. I want to get the DVDs to catch the earlier eppys, but $22 for 3 episodes? Craziness. Makes me want to restart my Netflix membership.

School's on. Already I've started with the social withdrawal. I don't know what it is about sitting in a classroom with people who ask stupid-ass questions for six hours that makes me want to not interact with anyone.

How is Champloo? I'm finding a lack of decent anime referals...and good luck writing a book, I'm interested in reading the progress. :)

I've only seen three episodes in total - the first episode, the latest episode, and snippets from one somewhere inbetween. I like the fight scenes and I like the two male characters, although the chatty one (Muugen I think his name is) can be annoying. The female is written as a flitty somewhat anoying youngster in a way that seems to be almost stereotypical. I'm hoping there's more to her than what I've seen so far so I'm sticking this thing out. I do wish I'd seen more of the earlier episodes so I could get a clearer picture of what they're trying to do, but right now I'd say I think it's better than Inuyasha...although that's not saying much because my dislike of Inuyasha knows almost no bounds.

Go there. Cheap Champloo. Well, the subbed version, not the dubbed one. I heart Jin. I saw your icon, and I was like, OMG a new friend! And then saw it was you and was very confused.

I'll give it a check. I know purists look down on the dubbing (a "lost in translation" thing and all) but while I have no problem reading dialogue I rather prefer hearing things in English.

Isn't Jin awesome? I want to get more of his backstory. And the girl's too. She can't be that annoying for no reason.

Best of luck with writing! I've stalled after about 100 MSWord pages but it is great to know that I can do even that much. Nanowrimo really helped, needing to get X many words down per day gives you a "screw it, this doesn't need to be perfect" mindset that really helps the words flow.

William Gibson: You must learn to overcome your very natural and appropriate
revulsion for your own work.

Gibson's words = very wise.

I think I should try thinking smaller first. Try writing something, a page or two. Or a paragraph. Doing Nano might frighten me too much. Deadline and I don't work well together.

And I'm going to assume that comment was [livejournal.com profile] faedrake's words of wisdom. :) I hate when LJ misbehaves and sticks a comment up anonymously.

I want to see Failure to Launch sometime. I'd be interested to see a movie about a guy that lives in his mom's house going out with a girl. The only thing that I don't want to see is that skank-a$$ horseface Sarah Jessica Parker. My mom watches Sex in the City and I freakin' hate that show. Seriously, I wouldn't hit that double-bagged.

I'm with you in the SJP "Butterface" camp. I don't like to knock women (or men) for their looks, but when she keeps getting thrown in my face as the vision of a "beautiful woman" it makes me want to hit someone. She looks peculiar; does no one see this?

There's several women that popular culture sees as attractive that I'd turn them down for no-strings sex anyday, and then not have one regret about it. Julia Roberts, Paris Hilton, the list goes on. Give me the underrated, uncorrupted innocent beauty of Anna Paquin anyday. I dunno, something about her reminds me of this girl I used to go out with in 8th grade named Amanda. I guess you could psychoanalyze that however you want.

For some reason I've started liking Heather Graham, perhaps because she was on "Arrested Development" and "Scrubs", both shows I adore. I bet you could write a fabulous book--and then you could contact Joss Whedon and get it put out as a show or movie and get a wonderful cast and rake fabulous royalties and meet a wonderfully nice and sexy actor (Seth Green? James Marsters?) and...wait...this your fantasy. Nevermind. Heehee.

Heather Graham is cute when her mouth is closed. I've seen her in a number of things, and while I stomached her turn in "Boogie Nights" (prolly because she was half-naked in a lot of the movie) I tuned out when she was on "Scrubs" and "AD" because (IMHO) her line delivery is pretty awkward. Maybe she is talented and I just have no idea what I'm talking about *grin*

Best. Fantasy. Ever. *grin*
Although, since Marsters is like 45 now...by the time a screenplay would be workable he'd be pushing 50 and would you want to see that unclothed on screen? Dood.
